Hello guys i want to build this ultrasonic bird repeller :

electronic-pest-repellent-schematic_3.gif

but i d'ont found the OP-AMP CA3130 . can i replace it with CA3140 or CA3160 ??
please help me and thanks

Hi,

The CA3130 is used as oscillator.
It is a switching application.
Therefore i recommend a rail to rail output comparator with push pull output.

No special specifications besides this.

Klaus

The opamp simply slowly changes the ultrasonic frequency. The CD4017 clock input does not need a rail-to rail voltage swing and the opamp does not need to have a rail to rail output. I think any opamp will work, even a lousy old 741 opamp.

Yes 3140 is a direct replacement (exact same specs but 3140 goes up to 4.5mhz instead of 15)

No they do not have the same spec's. The output of the CA3130 is Cmos and is rail to rail. The output of the CA3140 is bipolar and is not rail to rail but it does not matter for the simple opamp in this circuit.

pleae tell me if can i use lm741 instead opf the ca3130 ??
can the 741 do the job 100% like the ca3130 ???
thanks
