I have a Atmega328P-AU, soldered in PCB with all other components. And I'm trying to burn the bootloader into that Micro controller through Arduini Mini Pro.

I have uploaded the ArduinoISP scatch to MiniPro. Did wiring like this

(MU) = (Mini Pro)

MOSI = MOSI
MISO = MISO
SCK = SCK
RESET = SS(Pin 10)
GND = GND
VCC = VCC

and I double checked the wiring, all seems good. But still arduino IDE shows this error.

Code:
C:\Users\..\Desktop\arduino-1.0.1\hardware/tools/avr/bin/avrdude -CC:\Users\..\Desktop\arduino-1.0.1\hardware/tools/avr/etc/avrdude.conf -v -v -v -v -patmega328 -cstk500v1 -P\\.\COM3 -b19200 -e -Ulock:w:0x3F:m -Uefuse:w:0x05:m -Uhfuse:w:0xde:m -Ulfuse:w:0xff:m

avrdude done.  Thank you.

I tried with Arduino IDE 1.0.6 and 1.0.1. But I think problem is in hardware because its showing Device signature = 0xffffff. But I'm not sure which part I should look into ? Crystal is correctly wired and all other components.

One more question, can other components on PCB cause this problem ? There are other ICs and components using I2C and Digital pins of MU.

Thank you

How are you communicating with the arduino pro-mini and your PC with the IDE on it ? If the dtr pin on the pro-mini is connected to the interface, it may be resetting the pro mini when the bootloader upload begins. It may be necessary to put a 10uF capacitor between the pro-mini's reset pin and ground just before starting the bootloader upload to keep the pro mini from being reset. An Arduino Uno has to have this done when used as an ISP programmer.

Yes Pro Mini is connected to an interface, and I removed the DTR Wire because do not require to reset arduino mini pro. But result stays same.

Got it working, the actual problem was CAP was shorted to GND underneath.
