Hi,
We all know breaking a DC current from a HV source is bad news...the HV will likely keep the current flowing by arcing somehow......however, with AC its not so bad...the AC current goes through zero regularly, of its own accord, and so any arc cannot sustain.....but what if its High frequency AC?.....can the current still sustain?, since the current soon rises up quickly again following the zero cross.....eg, what about breaking the attached AC current which is 58kHz?
Will there be a sustained arc?
