Hello all. After studying Analog VLSI for a while.Dealing with only low voltages and LDO s. I got to study switch mode power supply under our professor. Being fascinated by the idea of SMPS. I wanted to design a boost converter. I want to double my input voltage. SO used D=1-vi/v0. So i kept duty cycle 0.5.

And output i got is
So i read tat in discontinuous mode output depends on various values of L,output current.
Since i am beginner. which values should i tweak to get around 10 volts. what value is considered as lighter load. please clarify.

Hi kishore680,

Can I ask something?

In school do you have practical exercises or all is based on simulators ?

Theoreticaly did professor explain losses and other things or he simple explain design just as 2+2=4 ?

Best regards,
Peter
