buy 5v boost converter india

anyone knows what is boost converter .. which can convert 3.3V to 5V ? sometimes its called SVIC.... ??
any idea ??
is it simple amplifier or something else ??

"boost converter" is one of the three types of non-isolated switch-mode voltage regulators. The other two are "buck" and 'inverting".
The isolated ones are "flyback","forward","half-bridge" and "bridge".
There are a lot of chips that can be used for this purpose;none of them may be called "an amplifier".

Can u give me some IC no.. which will do this ?
I want to convert my 3.3 V to 5V @1.25A

3.3V/5V conversion is verry usual in our days, because many "old" chips suplied at 5V (example sensors ) must be controled by an uC suplied at 3.3V.

Just go in Google and search for

3.3v/5v boost converter

U will found hundreds of chips to choose from!!

Good hunt!!

Try to go to:
Maxim
Linear Devices
National Semiconductors
Texas Instruments
And similar websites, they all makes boost coverters.

Yes, boost converters are mature products. The basic idea is to use LC to save and transfer energy.

ya thanks group...

thanks again
