what abt Synplicity tool

There is no other tool like dc for synthesis

RTL compiler from Cadence also good for synthesis.

If You're programming for chip from Xilinx, use XST (included in ISE). It works great for me, and there's no need for leaving ISE during designing-simulating-programming.

I think Synopsys Design compiler is easy to learn n it has HOLD fixing option too !!

Design Compiler is industry standard tool.

Synplicity's synplify pro is best for FPGA synthesis...

leonardo spectrum is good for synthesis. synplify is also one of the tool for synthesis which is provided some of the vendors like lattice.

fpgacompiler is a dc variant for fpgas (dc with only fpga libs, I think discontinued)

use sysnopsys's DC to do synthesis, but Candence's Conformal to do equivalence check.
