Hello everyone,

Can anyone recommend me a good beginners project using a PIC uC and a JHD162A 16x2 LCD display? I have a PIC16F628A, not sure if something already using this micro is available or if existing projects can be easily adapted. I started out learning programming these things in BASIC so I'm looking for projects that use BASIC language although all suggestions are welcomed.

Thank you!

Why are you programming with BASIC?

Do you have any specific reason? C is the best language for MC. and having lot of support available.

Try these codes. You need to add a 4 MHz crystal and two 22 pf Ceramic Capacitors for Oscillator circuit.

Awesome! I've built the circuit and it's working perfectly! I'll be experimenting with the code a bit and seeing what I can do with it.

Do you have any good 8 bit examples? I'll look through the ones in my library.

Very exciting stuff, thanks a lot!

Also Vekadesh, I have no specific reason other than that's what I made my first few simple programs with. I also have a couple example programs that are in Basic that I'd like to play with. When I first started looking into this stuff it was very confusing deciding on what kind of language to begin using and BASIC seemed welcoming. Now I see that C is much more widely used.
