Hello

I have a doubt and I don't find the answer. I will like to avoid trying as I lack of time, and diodes are very expensive.

I have a beam lead diode, very very small.I want to use it between two lines: A microstrip line, wich is much wider than the diode, and a waveguide. In this case the waveguide is donde in substrate using SIW, which is ever more wide than the microstrip.

My first idea is not to do any adaptation, and conect diodes like in the jpg, directly, without any kind of footprint.

Is this reasonable. Is there a better way of doing it? I wanted to take advantage of waveguide broadband feature.

Thanks in advance
