There are many online calculators which give battery, panel, charger sizing for offgrid solar systems.I want to ask you that if e.g. a calculator gives 100Ah battery needed for a particular system to run for 6 hours then for the 1st time should i connect the battery totally empty to test results of that calculator practically or should i connect battery totally charged for the 1st time and check the calculator practically in next few cycles of battery in coming days???

It sems the system involves both charging of batteries through solar panel and then discharging by some application. If the battery bought is new one then it will be fully charged, connect to application and note down the discharge time, also energy. after battery is fully discharged then connect it to charging circuit separately and note down the charging time. Need to go through 3 rounds of charging and discharging of battery. only then u will be able to analyze if your application will have enough battery backup or not.

what type of battery u r using ??
VRLA AMG battery
Gel Battery
Automotive Battery?

You have to analyze the battery volt and current with respect to time to know the battery charging and discharging capacity .

Hi wagas,
You must be care pls w. battery because solar system is a cycled modus one!
If your battery isnt OK for that, you will have the end of life cycle maybe after 1-2 years, it will be very expensive.
A "solar battery" can lyfe with acceptable capacity after 500/1000 (the best eventually more) cycles and a usual type maybe only 200 or 300...
By calculating system capacity; dont forget the aspect of shadowing the panels=less capacity & the temperature gradients too (by battery & solar tables too!).
