Very simple. Make the connecting pins of totally different diameter , so that reverse plugging becomes impossible. secondly for low capacity batteries there can be a shunt diode with a fuse in series path. one can use a series diode, but it causes drop of voltage to load.
DEAR MR MVS SARMA
i did not get first one....second one i understood..
the battery i am talking about 100AH lead acid battery..
can you explain more detail first methods
thank you very much
the size of positive and Negative connectors is different, in case you are using automobile battery.
Please indicate the make and model number of battery so that exact point could be elaborated.
for your information i am not providing any connectors for battery,..i need to leave the +ve and -ve wires to connect battery for HOME UPS application...
user has to connect the battery terminal to battery
Hai friends. Try this reverse battery protection. For heavy loads the relay need to be used with the correct capacity. The terminals marked as "charger" can be given to charger or load. In case of reverse polarity, the relay energises and the load or the charger get cut off from the battrey.
i fear that this element of circuit would check the battery connection polarity with reference to coil but NOT with reference to the charger voltage, that we more to be specific of.
With a normally closed contactor, the rectifier in the charger would be most likely distroyed before the relay can open the circuit. Additionally, it's contacts may be distroyed by the switching arc, too. The circuit should be redesigned using a normally open contactor.
The situation would be different, if the charger provides some current limiting in reversed state.
