Annotation for STX CO.
Post package without any marks, I hadn’t known what I god until I opened. Speakers were lying loose in boxes, without any strenghten.
Beginning
I had to reinforce my speaker columns by some good bass
Why this?
After I had serch throught the net I found that STX GDN 38/550/4 AE are quite good speakers and it’s hard to find something better in that price. Money was the priority
Firstly I made general project at paper sheet and WinISD soft. I found that 120 l casing and 45 Hz will be perfect for me and for speakers.
Casing
I bought ride size boards at castorama. MDF board 18mm both side laminated. Unfortunatly carpenter at castorama made mistake and instead 20,6 made 26cm so I had to correct by myself. Screws are every 5-6cm. Glued by Vikol. For safety I put silikone on edges. Bassreflex hole is painted black spray.
Finishing
Blanker I got from internet auction.
Accessories ( terminals, slots for suport stands, hands, etc) from STX web
Blanet I glued by some glue for fabric and leather – similar to butapren. For my own satisfaction I put decals on ports. I still need to make from net-covers.
Test
Columns plays with PMP PA-800 (2x400W with 4om)
So far I’ve cut them to 300Hz 12 db/ octave it is because that crossover I have.
After first party I called them “my small devils” 100m2 room is not a problem.
My friend hear music from 300 meters , and grandpa from 400 , althought there are a lot of buildings.
