LETS START EMBEDDED!

Start with AVR. Use BASCOM trial version and later graduate to WinAVR.

Re: LETS START EMBEDDED!

why should you 'pollute' your mind with basic?
Just start with the real stuff (C ;-) ). It ain't that difficult and you learn much more and usefull stuff!
Imagecraft has a good AVR Compiler with free trial. There are good 8051 Compilers available too. I recall that ther is one free IDE for 8051.

Re: LETS START EMBEDDED!

Basics are essential i think. After learning Assembly we can contiue with c or others. We can get stuck later if we don't know it.

Re: LETS START EMBEDDED!

It's also handy to learn a little bit of compiler construction after studying assembly to aid in debugging C programs.
