From where this "white" word come in Additive White Gaussian noise .? ( I know that PSD of noise is flat but why white ??) Plz help
 

If you add all the different frequencies(colors) of light you get white light. THAT's where it comes from.
 

And "pink noise" has more power in the lower frequencies which again resembles the effect with light.
