Bandgap reference output 1,2 or 1,12 V ?

Bandgap reference output

Hello guys...
Please shed me light on this one...
My concern is this...most of the bandgap reference design has a 1.2V output and said that it is based on the bandgap of the silicon..

I just don't understand it...the bandgap of the silicon is 1.12ev not 1.20ev

Bandgap reference output

"Bandgap" stems from the first observations, mistaking
coincidence (data value) for cause. The two have nothing
to do with each other, but the name stuck.
