Hi all.
Im having a bit of a problem with how to wire an electret condenser microphone and amplifier to my aviation headset.
This is the problem... the microphone cable that come from the plug only has 2 wires, white is ground and the red is BOTH power and signal. The little mic and amplifier board that I have has 3 terminals, ground, VCC and output.
Can anyone please help me with how I could go about wiring the mic amplifier board's 3 terminals to the headset's 2 wire microphone cable???
An electret condenser mic usually has only 2 terminals. Its output terminal usually is powered with a resistor from a positive supply voltage.
Of course your amplifier has output, positive and ground terminals but you did not say what type of microphone it is designed for (dynamic?).
A dynamic mic has a coil and magnet like a tiny speaker. It does not use a power supply.
Provide specific information: photos, part number/code for electret, design/usage/datasheet document for amplifier board. e.g. You are currently asking, 'How long is the piece of string in my hand, what is it made of, and what colour is it?' - My answer, 'With so little information, and no images, it's anyone's guess.'
