I am posting tested circuit for automatic cutoff for streetlight.

R3 probably needs to be rated at more than 0.5W.
Without knowing what the rest of the circuit does it's difficult to comment any further but my first thought is why are you using U1 at all when you could just wire the LDR and a fixed resistor to produce the output voltage.

You are right betwixt, at 400V it come close to .5wt.
but circuit consume upto .5watt depends on operating line voltage.
Now days many people are doing led street light. For them this circuit may help full

hello sir thnxfor help but this street light controller is not proper to understand.please clearfy and where to use ldr
