This circuit is Arduino microphone shield. It receives audio thru microphone and delivers it to Arduino analog input..Can anyone tell me how to modify the input to take audio from speaker jack or line-out instead of the microphone ?

Completely wrong. Review the circuit description
Detects sound from silence and outputs digital trigger signal.

the question is how to replace the mic input of this circuit into a line out from a radio or ipod.?

Hi,

Klaus

Thanks Klaus, did u try it urself? there is no fruitful result. I clicked alot of these results, they all bark at the wrong tree.

Remove everything before the LM393.
Connect a resistor (1K ideally but as a higher level may be needed, try 10K) from pin 3 to ground.
Connect the 'line out' from the radio/ipod across the resistor.

As pointed out, this is not for digitizing sound, it just produces a square wave out when the input level exceeds a certain voltage. It is suitable for triggering something when audio is fed in but it cannot be used for recording usable music or speech.

That is correct.

Please bear in mind the potentiometer is a sensitivity control, not a volume control. The circuit does not digitize the audio, it only detects whether it is present or not.
