audio amplifier

i want to make an electronic stethoscope for which i need to design an audio amplifier, which should be capable to pic soun from a stethoscope through a microphone.i have tried to make a audio ampkifier but so fa rthe circuits i have tried didnt work i need a guide on how to design an audio amplifier for the sthetoscope any body who can help with tis .

Would it be easier to eliminate the stethoscope and hold the microphone against the parts of the body?

What about TI's microphone preamplifier, have you tried it.

The design issues are simple, and accurate.
