Hi

I have questions about disadvantages or maybe advantages of using asymmetric stripline in my design.
Are we forced to use asymmetric type because of constraints but actually like symmetric type? Or the asymmetric type has advantages in particular circuits?
I think about emi/emc problems and a way that via insertion and unwanted mode coupling reduction applied easily.
Please give me an idea?
Thanks

Disadvantages of offset stripline?

The fundamental mode of the symmetrical stripline is TEM, and also it is equipotential (every point in it is at the same potential).
If the stripline is asymmetrical, these modes will change, and the phase velocity and the characteristic impedance may change with frequency.

One advantage...you can bond the stripline, and make the entire circuit somewhat waterproof.
