compare.rul

I've created a new device & a corresponding extract.rul file to test its extraction. Now I want to add compare rules to do a simple LVS & to make sure that the schematic & the layout are extracted. Essentially I want to test if the new device is extracted & compared.

What minimum rules do I need to put in the compare.rul file in order to achieve this?

thanks,

ak

Hello,

I don't know really Assura tool but with Calibre from Mentor you need basically your layout (*.gds), your source netlist (*.sp) and in option a rule file.
In the rule file your are some information like where are your file on your computer the name of your output file(extracted netlist, report file,...).

Be careful a LVS makes just a comparison between your layout and a netlist, it don't means that the fab can build the mask of your cell.

When you want really print your design you must make a Design Rule Check(DRC) and ask the rule file(for example: how many um between 2 nets) to your foundry(TSMC, Chartred, ...), it is not easy to do alone because it depends on the technology.
Calibre Interactive groups the DRC and the LVS tools and you can obtain support here:

Good luck!
