Dear all,

I have a verilog design is quite small (below 512FF), which is optimized for FF usage. My boss want to put it in FPGA(or something else) as cheap as possible(since the required clock rate is only 3Mhz, and only five I/O pins required). I ask some sales(lattice, altera), but I quickly found that some low-end products are no longer available. I didn't have any experience on FPGA, so I known none about all the things different between FPGA and ASIC. Did anyone has suggest FPGA for this low-end application(below $2)? Thanks a lot.

I doubt that you can realize 2$ for a 256-512 LE PLD solution. But there's a lot of CPLD or small non-volatile FPGA devices available in the said range, from various vendors. Additional requirements (supply voltage, power, package) have to be considered.

Below 2 bucks i dont think so. Maybe 4 dolars... take a look at Actel Fpgas? Example : A3PN030 at mouser is 3.50 dolars...

in China, I have buy A3PN030,less than 2 dollar.

I think is good for your design.

SiliconBlue is a new FPGA vendor... they have some interesting parts at the low-end, iCE65L04 is $2 in volume.
