Hi Everyone,

I have more than 15 years of background in FPGA, MCU, RF, etc. But I don't have the slightest idea on how I could make an ASIC (which is starting to look more important everyday that goes by).

Could someone let me know where to start from, what tools are out there, how I can learn and how I can do a prototype? I know shuttle-runs and I have been in charge of 28nm and 65nm ASIC projects, but I never have been involved in the silicon design (the Layout, how it's done, etc).

All suggestions are appreciated.

Thanks

Thanks Does this cover only timing analysis? Or does it explain layout, how it works, what software to use, etc?

Thanks,
Nasser

it will be a starting point...because it is a vast area you are trying to cover....layout or IP design is done by one group, Physical design, STA, DFT, signal integrity ...are fields of expertise in themselves....
