Are clamps and snubbers essential for converters?

if we dont use snubber and clamp circuit in converters,whoud be the performance limited.is the using of them is essential?

the clamp is a very important part of converters because it is the one which limits the voltage to the desired value.... snubber is generally used to remove transients in the output.....

clamp and snubber?

actually removing a snubber typically improves performance, or at least efficiency as its no longer consuming any power, though you basically are asking murphy to cook your ic's and transistors
