Some doubts regarding calculation of ARC TAN using cordic algorithm. Can anybody explain the correlation between the resolution of inputs(ie.. x,y) and the output resolution (theta). To be more precise, if I need a 16 bit angle output, what should the resolution of inputs x,y be? This is necessary for choosing ADC resolution.

Also can anybody tell me as how much error can cordic introduce in calculation?

regards
gvk
