anybody knows about event-driven simulation in MATLAB

event driven simulations in matlab

hi,
i have to give inputs to my scheduler
the voice is modeled as an ON-OFF process, where the avg duration of ON and OFF periods are set to 2.5 and .5 secs.
during the ON period, packets are generated with fixed time intervals.
no packet is generated during OFF period.
in video traffic, packets arrive in a poission fashion.


how to create these things.
i read the state flow. but i cant understand.
