I am trying to get my hands on unpackaged ICs. My knowledge of the subject is limited, but what I've found so far is my options are A) Be a manufacturer or B) unpackage my own using nasty boiling acids. Neither of those is very appealing to me, so I thought I'd ask here to see if anyone has access to microchip dies. I am not picky as to the application, because I'm going to use it to make a tie clip to go with my new circuit board tie. Silly, I know. I may like a few to mess around with different things, but nothing operational. It would be cool if it was from sort of memory or processor, especially classic ones. I will be happy obviously to pay money, just let me know what you want!

So, if you have access to dies or can depackage them, let me know!

Hi,

where are you from?

Have a try at testhouses for wafer testing. Maybe they have broken wafers then you have to cut out the dice on your own.
Or look for electronic waste and look for UV EEPROMS or circuits in HF shielding metal boxes.

Good luck
Klaus
