Hi,
I am designing a microstrip Vivaldi antenna in Ansys HFSS 2024 R2 Student, with a lower frequency of about 1.4 GHz. The dimensions are 100x100x1.6mm.
I am using a Create region abs of 170mm on each side- radiation boundary- air.
Setup: broadband 1-5 GHz, delta S 0.02, number of passes 10, but it converges at 6. Sweep discrete 1-5 GHz, linear step 0.01 GHz with 401 steps.
Everything works fine this way.
If I change the broadband to 5-8 GHz, or even 5-7, 5-6, and change the sweep discrete to 5-8 or other values, and set a higher linear step, such as 0.05 GHz, the simulation stops with an error... "Mesh size greater than the limit for simulation in Ansys Student."
Why does it work fine in the 1-5 GHz range, but in the higher frequency range with fewer steps, it doesn't?
Thanks.
