amplify the power output of RF transceiver module

Hi

How I can increase the power output of an RF transceiver module (such as Laipac)

with 10mW to about 500mW?(I want to increase the range to several KM)
 

You can buy modules from minicircuits and others. There are two ways to apply it. One is to cut into the module and put your amplifier before the antenna switch possibly needing a switch with higher power rating. The external only way requires two TR switches to bypass the module on receive and a method of sensing when the module is in the transmit mode.

This is not an easy modification to do for someone without the experience or test equipment. Your module will have to have an antenna connector. You go from this to a TR switch that selects between your external amplifier input and a wire. At the output of your added amplifier there is a TR switch pointed the other way so it selects either the added amplifier output or the wire from the first TR switch. The common node of this second TR switch goes to the antenna.

The control to these two TR switches can be obtained from the initial module if you can go inside to the control for the TR switch in it. If not, you will have to make a RF detector at the input of your circuit (where it connects to the antenna port of the initial module) and put the detector output to a comparator.
 

What transistors is suitable for 433,900 and 2400 MHZ?

Is there an IC instead of TR for RF switching?


Assume that the module is in RX mode and receive data ,if the protocol used want to send response then it (a micro controller) enables the TX and send data then it returns to RX mode.in this method there is no need for RF detection,is it correct?
