In the Altium schematic design is there a way to generate a list or report of what PCB footprint libraries were used for assigning footprints to the schematic components. I have a fairly large design and want to pull all the PCB libraries that were used into the project. There probably many libraries that I had installed that I did not use footprints from.

Hi,

From your schematic sheet generate one integrated library (Design/Make integrated library)

Then open integrated library,in that open Schematic library and Go to Reports/Library Reports.

Hope this may help.

Regards
Anil

Anil,
Thanks for the suggestion, I did the Reports/Library Reports but I still did not see a listing for the source libraries (.PcbLib) for the assigned footprints. I can get the footprint library information if I go to Design/Footprint Manager, I then can select a component in the left window, double click on the footprint that is listed in the "View and Edit Footprints" Window it will bring up the PCB Model Window and the .PcbLib source library is listed at the bottom below the footprint. This in time intensive, I was hoping that there was some report or list that would show the PCB source libraries that have been used for assigning footprints to the schematic symbols. I have not created the PCB layout yet, I'm trying to get this information from the Schematic before I go into the PCB layout.

Hi,

Add a parameter in schematic library for each component pcb library = 'xyz' and update the schematics.
After that generate BOM for your required parameter.

Anil

Anil,

Wouldn't I have to go into each schematic libraries for each component I used and add this parameter?

Anil,

Finally got in touch with someone from Altium and what I was trying to do is not possible at this time. They gave me a site to go to for posting this for possible future enhancements. Thanks for your input.

Hi,

I have doubt, anyhow you have created a integrated library from project or schematic then update/add the same library to project and validate the footprints from footprint manager.

I am trying to get any better option to generate this kind of report,if you found any better way to do it update it.

thanks & best regards
Anil
