I've been following this website for a long time and finally I'm able to join the community :)

My first question might sound "silly" tough...

I've just started using Altium ( i always used Orcad) and i have a little problem: when i place a component on a PCB and i move it to the bottom layer, the color of the pads doesn't change. Let me explain: my top layer is green and my bottom layer is red. when i place a component on the top, i can see green pads and tracks. If i move it to the bottom layer ( using "L"), the tracks will become red but the component's pads will stay green. Is that normal?

Thanks in advance for your help
Gio'

PS: One more question. When i change the width of one bottom layer track, its color changes from red to green...actually the color is always red but as soon as you change the width, there will be "green x" on the track...do you know what is happening?

Hi,
Change layer in the component properties dialog to put the component on the bottom layer.
