Altium..how to update selected component (only) from its library?

Altium..how to update selected component (only) from its library?.eg in a schematic, how to just upddate the selected....if i loose all my value text again for the entire schematic then im never going to finish before xmas.......Altium lacks proper tutorials, and lacks a free version that you can practice on.

I'm not sure it updating just selected components is the correct thing to do. It seems more safe to create a variant of the original schematic component and apply changes just on it. Anyway, it is possible to select individual parts to proceed changes.
