Hello, in Altium designer 6.5, when a dialog box appears for example Annotate... dilog box, some areas and some keys of dialog box are out of frame so I can't see them or in rule definition dialog box some lines overlap on each other, it is not a very serious problem and I can manage to work with it but it is bothering, how can I fix it, is it has to do with my resolution 1280X1024, DPI setting large size 120DPI, thanks.

Re: Altium Designer 6, some area of Dialog Boxes is out of f

It is caused by your large system font setting (120DPI).

The fix is to go to the display properties Appearance (Advanced) Tab and increase the text size for most desktop objects by about 25%. This will change most of the system stuff to larger fonts, but the app's (inside the app windows) will still be the normal smaller size. It's not a problem for most programs as you can zoom in as required.

Is there any workaround to this caveat in Altium 10?

I mean, I could change all Windows appearance because of Altium, but,
any hope at DXP/preferences ?

Thanks in advance,

Xezi.

Well, I believe I stumbled on a solution, but it's more like a tradeoff.

Close Altium if it's open.
Windows orb, type Altium, right click on Altium icon, properties, compatibility.

To be able to see all within the windows: check 'disable display scaling on high DPI settings', hit ok.
Run Altium.
All drawings, menus, everything will look somewhat blurry tough.

You could need also to:
- run Altium as admin
- turn on ClearType fonts (on Windows)

For things look sharp (normal) again:
Close Altium if it's open.
Uncheck 'disable display scaling on high DPI settings'.
Some windows will appear cutted out like usual in high DPI settings.

Hope that helps,
cheers,
Xezi
