Hi,

I've been scratching my head for quite a while, maybe someone have solved this.

I'm trying to figure out a way to make solder mask expansion on *tracks* controlled via rules.

I have set up a rule that for a specific class set solder mask expansion to 20mil. But for that value to be accepted, i must first route the track and then select every trace in the class and in the Track Property dialog | Solder Mask Expansion, enable "Expansion From Rule". Ive tried to change default track to have this option enabled, but all new traces are created with the option disabled. Is there a way to force altium to enable "Expansion From Rule"?

Thanks in advance

Hi,

You can use "PCB Inspector" after you selected all tracks with "PCB Filter". This may be easier for changing all of them at the same time.
For changing this option to be default you can use "PCB Rules and Violations" menu. There is an option named as "Solder Mask Expansion" when you click it, it shows whether option is enabled and not. You can double click to see more options. I did not try, check this out and tell us the result please.

Thanks kpc,

good idea on using filter, thanks.

The PCB Rules and violations panel simply consolidates the rules as far as i can see. Indeed the rule was "on". Still AD refuse to enforce the rule w/o manually set "From rule" at the "Solder Mask Expansion" in the track properties for each track.

Either its a bug, or some other setting is required for this to work.

Any ideas?
