[SOLVED] altera UART in NIOS II processor

hello,

I have a NIOS II processor system of cyclone 3 that contains altera Uart module in it.

I used HAL api to access it, like open(), ioctl(), and write()

is it enough to access the UART?

ya thats enough i used hal library and it got started it was just a connection error.
