Hi everyone,
All Black screen appears when I try to boot Zorin OS 16 on my HP notebook with an 11th Gen Intel processor and 12GB of RAM. After the HP logo, the screen goes blank, and although I hear the boot sound after 1–2 minutes, nothing shows on the display. When I connect an external monitor, only the wallpaper is visible, but nothing else works.

Could this be a Linux display driver issue or something related to the Intel GPU? Any help on how to fix this would be greatly appreciated!

I experimented with Linux installations including Zorin. (I'm now using Mint successfully for several months.) From reading troubleshooting tips, yes, I imagine you have a display driver problem. For the remedy you must go through the effort of locating and installing the correct driver.

Zorin was a welcome change from Win10. I could see Zorin was good at recognizing what things needed to be installed in my HP laptop. However it ignored the video camera, and anyway I was in a mood to try other Linux packages. If you believe you can get past the hurdles using Zorin, then select all default settings when you install, and let it format your hard drive just beforehand.

Thanks for sharing your experience! I will look into finding the correct driver and give the default settings a try during installation. Appreciate the advice!
