Good Day Dear friends,

Could any explain me how do low power factor increases current consumption.

For easy calculations let consider a load with 10 Amps, PF 0.6, and Voltage 230 Volts whose wattage would be 1380 where as same load at PF.99 wattage would be 2277 Watts, but according to forums information improved power factor will minimize current consumption.

Thanking You,
Ravi Kumar

If you have V=230v , P=1380 Watt , P.F=0.6 Thus you have reactive power Q=1840Var . Presume you have inductive load , if you add a capacitance to your circuit so you can eliminate inductive effects (assume ideal capacitance ) X= XL-XC and Q= V(rms)^2 /|X| however I think Your loads are not same load.
