What’s the main advantage of Eddy current sensors over Hall sensors? Both can be used for displacement measurement.

I would bet that makers of both types have published papers
on this very subject.

Both types have signal conditioning chains to make the
sensor output into system-useful input. These can be the
dominant part of bandwidth / response time. Highly
variable in my little bit of looking. Like, bare Hall is mV
and nanoseconds, but you want a 0-5V signal then you
have to accept a much more leisurely response - so no
use of buffered-Hall sensors in current sense leg of high
speed switching power supply, etc, though DC-leg current
sensor applications, those would maybe be fine.

There are quite different position ("displacement") sensor configurations . Discussing best sensor principle without specifying the configuration makes little sense. You should also consider capacitive, differential transformer and optical sensor principles.

I’m not talking about specific applications but rather general information. Maybe there are different specs such as sensitivity and movement frequency?
