Is there a way to add another volume control to my car's stereo? I'd like to put that extra vol. control on my steering wheel so that I don't have to reach for my stock one.

Hi

You can use chip like PGA2310 from TI, SSM2160 from Analog, CS3310 Cirrus and Maxim also have a lot of digital pots.

But you have to get the signal before the power amplifier or use some extra opamps in between.

There are projects on the net with schematics for up/down control.
Pm me if you have problems finding and I try to find a link.

Hi,
You may consider to use the stereo unit with difital "Up/Down" vulume control buttons, and extend the additional wiring to remote buttons, placed on steering weel?
