Hi everyone,

I need to add a footprint to an existing component. For example I want to add a 0603 footprint to one of the capacitors in the miscellaneous devices library. How do I go about doing this? I know I can change it from tools>footprint manager but I want it to show up when I select the component in place>component?

Thank you

Maybe you should give us a clue as to which of the many software packages you are using...

Let me see :)

AHA! I have it now... The smoke is coming clearer, (unlike the drugs I look like I'm on!) It looks like its not CADSTAR, Eagle, Proteus, Kicad, Designspark, Pulsonix, Pads VX or Altium Designer as they do not have "Tools\Footprint Manager".
So back to the crystal ball to see what software it is?

Sorry I meant to say that this is for Altium...

Open the Schematic library. Double click on the component, that will open the Library Component Properties window. Under Models, click Add, and add your new footprint.
