hi,

I want t use ad7714 with pic18f4550. can i use simple serial communication for that?? any idea ??

why you want use UART want to interface with PC?

correct me if i misunderstand your requirement.
 
Actually, I am good in UART communication. I have never used SPI interfacing with microcontroller. So if uart is available to transfer digital data of ad7714 to pic18f4550 than it will be good choice for me. otherwise i will read about SPI and i will design code.
 

no ad7714 dont work on UART and UART is different protocol my friend.

as mention in ad7714 datasheet its simple 3 wire SPI chip. and its driver is post at link which i post in earlier post.
