accidentally clicked on turn off in windows 7

I accidentally clicked on the turn off option in the start menu in windows 7 and it just turned off my PC instantly with out any warning or confirmation. Is there anyway it could be prevented.

Yes, you can change the action of the 'button' and move it somewhere else. See here:

Actually, there is: "C:\WINDOWS\system32\shutdown.exe -a" but you need to be quick.
