inrush current calculator

Hi,

I'm trying to specify test for a board. I have difficulties with inrush current. what is an acceptable level of inrush current, and what level is not acceptable. For example, I have a Supply network with provide 100 ma on the board, at nominal operating conditions. Is 130 mA acceptable for the Inrush Peak, is it too high.

Is there common level of inrush, standard I could look for setting test level.

Faithfully,

inrush current calculations

Unfortunatelly there is no common calculator for "inrush current".
In your case you have a board that consumes on average 100mA. So the inrush peak current can be somewhere in the AMPs range and this will mainly depend on the quality of the electrolitic capacitors (internal imedance) used as de-coupling caps ..
In this case 130mA will be much below the realistic value ..
