Hi
i need some advise in this idea, i need to control Ac voltage of primary coil of 50hz transformer to build battrey charger,

first main ac convert to dc using bridge then by using h-bridge and pwm control to generat from 180 v to 230 v ac routed to primary 220vac then i could control secondery voltage from 10 to 14 dc? is this good idea?

Your idea to control the output voltage is practical. But for battery charging you would initially need to control the battery current rather than controling the secondery voltage. A much simpler and low cost is to phase control the primary voltage using triac, similar to fan Dimmer.

For learning purpose this is a good idea but this idea is not efficient for battery charging purpose.
i have tried this idea with h bridge controller (ir2110) and pwm controller (sg3524) .
This was suitabel for resistive
and motor loades but not suitabel for battery charging...................

i need this idea for my inverter, my inverter square wave usning bank masfet irf3205, when main ac return, use irf mosfet as bridge and revers main ac in primary... i use lm393 for control charging, but its bad idea, hystrese is one volt, and battrey life is bad and not relly full.
i think of this idea to control main ac no dc side to easy work.

You should control voltage and current both for lead acid batteries. What is capacity of battery what you want to charge ?

100 Amps and 150 amps car battrey

my idea is control voltage related to current drain,, for dead battery 10v stage to 12v by constant amp 10 ampere then rise voltage to 14.2 until current down then 3rd stage 13.8 voltage .. i will use shunt ressitor to mesure dc current

You mean 100Ah and 150Ah.

Use low cost hall sensor for measuring current ACS720-20 (20A) or ACS712-30 (30A). Classic current shunt will make heat and will reduce voltage at full current.

Lead Acid (six cells - starter type) is complete empty at 11,9V and deep cycle type can go to 10,5V.

Charging/Discharging current for Starter type is C/10 and for Deep cycle type C/20.

Search existing EDABoard threads, you can find chargers.

I search but not found, i bay Dimmer, try to controll voltage, it work , could i build like it idea controll by microcontroller, about shunt ressistor i mean like this

You can control the current and voltage via microcontroller (as mentioned in my previouse reply), I have made it and working perfectly. For shunt, just use a piece of cable. In my circuit, I tapped the battery charging cable from 6".

the cable of charger connecting charger to battery is also have internal resistance .
so there are some mili volts across cable. these voltages can be amplified by lm324 .
for current sensing lm324 is very widely used ic. mostly professional current sensing circuites( digital and analog)
use this ic for this purpose.

i need the simplest ac voltage regulator using scr
