Hi everyone,
I meet a question recently,we need to design circularly polarized antenna that gain is about 14dBi in L-band (1.6GHz),but if use array such as microstrip, the area is too wide and a single helix and horn antenna reach 14dBi is difficult. 8O .I want to know which circularly polarized element could achieve it ?
Thanks!

whats the requiered bandwidth? and space limitation? one way to enhance the directivity of p@tches is to use superstrates (substrates above the patch) with high permitttivity, but if you need a high bandwidth, it could not been used. (bytheway, 14DBi is really high, maybe its better to use active antenna with this requerement). moreover, you may use a reduced size p@tch wich nearing the radiating adge of the p@tch, and thus highering its directivity, you may use notched p@tches, or some fractal p@tches, but remember, in order to have the most possible gain, you have to use the most possible volume for the anenna.
