AA size batteries (NiCd or NiMH) of 1.2V terminal voltage

Hello,

I cant find AA size (or smaller) , 1.2V cells with capacity greater then 2Ah.

Do you know of any?


We have digikey and mouer for shopping for electronic compoents, but what can we use for comparing cell & battery prices?
 

You wont find NiCds for that capacity, but NiMH AA cells rated at 2700+ mAHr are not uncommon at all. You could check up on any digital camera website for the prices. But note that all NiMHs, even those rated for similar capacity ratings are not the same, their discharge curve might be quite different.

What exactly is the application?

You should be able to find them. Check websites of different manufacturers.

I remember seeing Sony batteries rated aroud 3500mah. Yes it was for digital camera. So that is something you should look for.

application is for emergency LED lighting.......3W.

When mains cuts out, battery kicks in and lights leds
 

Just because they were made for cameras doesnt mean that they can't be used for anything else. Just keep the charge and discharge curves in mind when designing your circuits.
