This device generates frequencies in range of 0,2 – 20000Hz. The frequencies can be changed in 6 ranges, in each of them there is a possibility of continuous regulation. Generating sinusoidal, rectangle, triangle and saw waveform shape is available. Filling impulses may have a constant value of 50% or be continuously adjustable in the range 5-95%. Additionally, there is a possibility to adjust the output DC component generator, which allows to generate positive and negative impulses. Output amplitude is in the range 0-5Vpp for the rectangle and triangle and 0-3,5Vpp for the sine. In addition, the output is equipped with a switched divider x0,1. The generator is also equipped with an additional TTL output at the end of first generator element. There a frequency meter can be connected.
A PCB example can be easily found on the Internet. The plate was digested in FeCl3, drilled and soldered. The amplifier was placed in the plastic housing Z2A. The front panel is a print on chalky paper, glued with sided sticky tape and stuck with self-adhesive foil on the outside . The transformer 2x12V has 3,5V winding, from which the front LED is powered.
The main advantages of this function generator are quite low distortions (about 0,6%, but can be reduced to 0,4%), its low cost and simplicity.
