Guys
Do I need a driver for FT232 and crystal on it ?
I saw on datasheet, it doesn't need crystal...
**broken link removed**
Any clues ?
thanks

Yes you need drivers which are available on FTDI site
and No you don't need crystal

after that I can use the board with the same behaviour when I used regular MAX232?
Use serial port software from my pc to communicate with uC ?

thanks

FT232 is usb to uart(TTL) converter ic as far as i know. Max232 is RS232 to UART(TTL) converter ic. If you want one of your computer's USB port to act as serial port, then you need to use FT232. If your computer has built in serial port you can just use MAX232.

In both cases you can use any serial port monitor software (like hyper terminal) to communicate with serial port.

in addition to above info
if you want to use COM port to communicate with MCU using FT232, install VCP (virtual COM port) drivers fro FT232.
