User “motykami” presents his laser projector with a 532 nm, 500 mW green module and with Galvo 30kpps scanner, ILDA-controlled, DMX-controlled (24 channels, selection of uploaded patterns, rotation, magnification effects and so on) and music connection (a built-in microphone).

A ready-made set of Galvo scanners was bought (power supply+ amplifiers+ scanner+ driver’s plate and cabling), several changes were made (adding size adjustment in the x-axis and y-axis and switches to reflect a image in the x-axis and y-axis (+ was swapped with – in a symmetric signal coming into an amplifier).

It has a 532nm, 500mW laser module and cooling module with the Peltier effect and forced cooling with fans.

The casing is recycled from an old decade meter.
All was made with standard workshop tools (an angle grinder, drill, drill-driver, files, etc.) The casing was plated with a matt black oil-based varnish (spray). The description at the rear of the casing were printed on self-adhesive paper with a laser printer, stuck there, and then painted using three layers of a colorless oil-based (spray).

The fans operate at idling speed (5V), they mainly cool the amplifiers of the Galvo scanners.

The cables should be fastened together in the inside to avoid a mess.

The main goal to make the laser – small outdoor parties, parties in bigger disco rooms.

Security matters –a laser beam should be generated over people’s heads not to put their life at risk.
The laser is usually controlled by means of the USB->ILDA interface (sometimes DMX), always connected to a separate power supply. An extension cord has an emergency switch that is found next to the laptop or a DJ’s console.
