Hello I want to add a battery charger to my existing design.

Now I have a PIC18F4620 at the design. and it gathers some data from various sensor and sending it to the computer with RF. My system works with 9V NiMH battery and I want to charge it with usb. I need to implement a smart charger into the design, as i searched i've found TI BQ series.

Is there anyone who used this IC before? There are lots of different version of this series. I couldn't figure out exactly which one can be most suitable for me.

Thank you.

This stands out in particular. USB works on 5V. It is not able to charge a 9V battery.

Do you have an existing step-up circuit to 9V or 10V? Or is this what you are asking for?

Yes I'm going to use LM2577 to boost the 5V. I'm going to charge the battery around 100-150ma so I think its going to be enough

Edit: I've found out that, bq2000 can be useful for me. Has anyone tried this ic before?
