Hi
K8 or Xeon already support 64bit , and use 64bit linux , I hope hspice have
"64bit" version .. but 64bit version hspice will "fast" than 32bit on linux ??

who have benchmark about 64bit EDA performance ??

in my experience in other tools, 64bit is slower than 32bit, the advantage is much bigger capacitance.

I think 64bit will be more accurate than 32bit.Is it correct??

I agreed with daniel@2004. 64bit bring with much bigger capacitance.

1. I think in 64bit CPU , if old spice program can be
re_optimal to 64bit , will run fast than 32bit .

2. I think EDA vendor don't support pure 64bits apps . till now 64bits CPU + OS only have large capacitance in layout & digital simulation , for analog simulation . I think dual core CPU (one die) is more useful than 64bit CPU .

From customers feedback ,Amd64 + linux is cheaper and faster than others system. Thus ,many IC company will purchase the AMD64+linux.and EDA ventor all provide eda tools based on this platform.

good news!!

64bit bring forth larger memory access and high-intensity computation power.

It will not give you extra speed

Re: 64bit spice smartSpice

**broken link removed**

who can tell me , 64bit spice is fast than 32bit or not

For the same hardware, 64 bit will be slower than 32 bit because it require some overhead

synopsys hspice linux version still use 32bit version or not ??
